    LG and iriver unveil the LB4400: the Korean Zunephone without the Zune (video)

    Little iriver has long been one of our favorite companies when it comes to innovative product design. Unfortunately, the Korean outfit responsible for about half of all digital audio players sold in its home country has all but disappeared from the international stage. Today it returns with the jointly developed LG-LB4400 musicphone. As the name indicates, LG is the muscle behind the cellphone internals (and apparently the industrial design) whereas iriver contributed the media player and UI elements. Specwise, we're looking at a 2.8-inch WQVGA LCD display, 3 megapixel camera, DMB TV, Dolby Surround Mobile, and support for a wide range of audio codecs including FLAC and APE. No word on price or availability but we've got a slow-loading video for you after the break.

    Flash 10.1 or HTML 5 for your Mobile Device?

    There's a certain buzz around HTML 5 and its abilities regarding content/video. An interesting set of comparisons is now shown on video which shows Flash 10.1 outperforming HTML 5 on a mobile device, specifically the Google Nexus One. Take a look at the video and decide for yourself. (Warning: a little boring)

    ZuneHD 64GB

    If you're like me and own a ZuneHD in any flavor, you enjoy the experience. Aside from my iriver H Series players, it occupies the only open spot in my stand alone portable media device collection. As seen in the screenshot, it appears that Microsoft is readying a 64GB player for public consumption. This is most likely to keep up with the current iPod Touch offering although a little late to the game. If/when it comes out and you're in need of picking up a dedicate portable media device without phone features, this should satisfy your storage needs.

    Windows Phone 7 Series on HD2

    While i'm not positive about this yet, it appears that the enterprising individuals and community at htcpedia have placed a working Windows Phone 7 Series ROM on their HD2. If true, it would mean that those of us who love the HD2 would be able to show off WP7S well ahead of its public debut this coming fall. Currently in order to get the ROM working you lose the ability to go back to WinMo 6.5 and there are no working apps. As things progress this will change.
