I have a few iriver H120 units available now in the store here at misticriver. These units were sold to me as new by iriver but are actually refurbs. A couple of them have a charging circuit issue but function fully when connected to an AC supply (mains), and a couple are fully functional. Please read the item descriptions carefully as i'm not offering a return policy on these items, they are being sold as-is. Direct all questions and comments to this thread.

misticriver has a new look and some new features to make navigating the site a little easier. I've introduced a tabbed forum homepage to simplify the browsing process (see photo) and make things a little more organized. You'll also notice the "iTrader" rating system back in place in the Buy/Sell/Trade forum. This is an ebay style rating system which hopefully will assist buyers and sellers who utilize the forum for buying/selling.

Also new to misticriver is an expanded offering of forums tailored to todays hot subject of smartphones and mobile internet devices. Many of you out there have moved away from solely carrying MP3 players and now use converged devices. Now you have a place for discussion.

As always, any hints, tips and suggestions are welcome.

A great pictorial review of iriver's newest flagship in Korea, the SmartHD. A nice looking player featuring up to 16GB of flash memory, a 3.5" HVGA screen, FLAC/OGG/APE audio support, AVI/MKV/WMV/MP4/MPG video support, FM Tuner and built-in Wifi. It is available now in Korea ranging in price from approx. $200US for the 8GB "no frills" version, to approx. $305US for a 16GB, Wifi and DMB packing model.

Buy.com is offering the iriver LPlayer 4GB for $39.99 with Free Shipping. Your only color choice is black and it ships from Tiger Direct. Still not a bad price for a small unit that will get the job done.

A couple of weeks ago, us Nexus One owners were treated to the HTC Desire ROM. The Desire is yet to be released, however the ROM, which includes Flash 10.1 has been made available. There are a few ROM "cookers" out there using this ROM and modding it. Just recently i broke down and put it on my Nexus One and having Flash on a mobile phone truly rocks!

If you're interested, all the info can be found here at XDA Developers

A reposting of a great review! It was posted at misticriver back in 2004, again in 2007 and seems appropriate again for the beginning of 2010, a full 7 years after its release.

WOW! 2004 seems like a hundred years ago. It was a time when iriver was king of the flash player market and a time when the venerable iHP-120 was young and garnering a crowd of geeks, lusting after its unique design and bevy of included features. Still the only consumer digital audio player to be released with an optical output*. Back in February 2004, our very own Doug (Sweet Spot) gave us his review of this fine player. I was able to salvage the review from misticriver v1.2 just before it met its maker. In fine S.S. fashion the review is lengthy, and it’s been unedited, presented to you here in all it’s glory. Take a ride back in time and enjoy!

Ok kids, gather round by the campfire with your marsh mellows, gram crackers and chocolate bars….Uncle Dougie is gonna tell you all a story !

Let me just say in advance that this is by no means a full length review. Only when I’ve had and used the unit extensively, shall I do that…which I think is the only way to really review any product unless it has so many inherant flaws that no further dissection is necessary. I will walk through each and every part of which experiences I can recall while using the IHP-120 either in my home, or on the go.
There are still things that I have yet to experiment with or test, so if anything seems left out, it is. And purposely so. I like to be thorough, but I find that there are never enough hours in a given day to do all the things I’d like. Not to mention that I can be very lazy too !
Let’s begin with the basics shall we ?
